This comment is in response to Jen, from 9/9/2008, and is only a point of detail, not a criticism.
Jen, the order originated through an overseas company... America uses the MM/DD/YY format, but just about everyone else uses DD/MM/YY, which really makes more sense anyway...most specific to more general in hierarchy. This would be clear if you had ordered it a couple weeks later... the date would have been 16/09/2008. There was no scam related to the date portion of your experience (though no doubt there was on the other stuff.) Quite a common confusion when dealing in international trade, really. Happens all the time.
