Wu-Yi tea is NOT for weight loss!
Page 2

I ordered the original Wu-Yi tea that has been advertised for weight loss. The maker states that you can get a 30 day supply for only $4.95 plus s/h. Not a bad deal for a total of $6.95. But it's a box of 60 oolong tea bags, the same tea that you can find at any GNC or health food store, nothing grand about it.

They say you have 14 days to try for free and that your credit card will not be billed until the end of the 14 day trial. This is a lie! I ordered it on February 13th and was billed on the 21st, that's 8 days later not 14. You can only cancel by e-mail. The phone number is not of any use if you expect to speak to an actual person. I emailed them to cancel the autoship, which is $29.95 at the end of the 14 day trial and was told that unless I send the remaining 30 day supply back, I would be billed the full price of $29.95. That's $29.95 plus the $6.95 already paid for a grand total of $36.90 for a box of $5 tea.

What a scam!! Of course they won't tell you that you can't keep the tea you paid for, they expect you to keep paying $30.00 for cheap tea.

I'm sending it back! We will see what happens.

No such thing as $4.95 14 day-free trial, after 14 days I was charged $59.95 to my debit card for the tea, then found additional charges of $4.95, $9.95 that keep coming. Had to close my bank card. My bank has to now file a claim with the company, will see what happens.

I would like to know what MedLaw -2007 did in your registered letter & class action lawsuit as I am ready to file. Could you advise any info? Thinking of contacting an attorney myself. I can not believe companies use hidden terms & conds. to try to take advantage of consumers.

This company has been completely rude (hung up on me, refusing to let me speak to management) saying that the additional charges have nothing to do with them. Then when you contact the other companies they say that the additional charges are non-refundable.

DON'T GIVE THESE PEOPLE YOUR CREDIT OR BANK ACCOUNT INFO!

Now I'm scared...I ordered it, then started reading this. The page says that it's loading my reciept...it's been doing that for about 10 minutes. I plan on cancelling my order right after it's done loading...wish me luck.

I too was taken by Wu-Yi tea. My mother emailed me the website and said she had seen the tea on Oprah. I figured it must be legit. I went to the website and read all the fine print and decided to listen to the little voice saying TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE!! I clicked the x to get rid of the page and a little sales thing said Special Offer $1.95 shipping. They got me. I immediately ordered my "FREE" trial. Only to receive another email from my mother saying I got some on EBAY. Dang it! I received my tea and immediately sent it back to Wu-Yi. Only to be billed. I called and was told in 2 weeks I would be refunded. That was on the 5th of September. On the 16th I was billed 29.90 from a wellness MD. I called Wu-Yi and was told that I had signed up for wellness MD when I bought the tea. HUH? Didn't see it in the fine print. I then had to call and cancel with Wellness MD. They were nice enough to refund my money after I talked to them for an hour. Filled out a 3 page cancellation package and faxed it to them. All for something I didn't even know I had! Then today I open up my credit card statement to see no refund from Wu-Yi but instead to debits of 4.95 and 9.95. UGH! I called Wu-Yi and the woman proceeds to tell me that they didn't even have me down for a refund and that the two separate charges were from another company I signed up for when I bought the Tea! I will now have to call these companies individually and ask for my money back. ERRRRRRR!

Well so this is my first time being taken for a ride. I sure learned my lesson. IF IT'S SOUNDS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE... GUESS WHAT? IT PROBABLY IS!

Don't not fall for Wu-Yi! I took the time to write this, to save other people their money! If you want to try the tea, Check EBAY. It may not be a free trial, but with Wu-Yi there is no such thing!!!

I havent tried it but was thinking about it. However I went on ebay and I see that they have it on there. If you really want to try it this may be the safest bet.

To let you know (from the original posting), I did get my money back! Being in law school really does help in case like this. I sent them a registered letter telling them of my intent to file a class action lawsuit against the company for making illegal and false claims that oolong tea will cause weight loss. They quickly refunded ALL my money! But get this, they thought I would be stupid enough to sign a confidentiality agreement stating I would never discuss the case OR the product itself! Guess you can tell what I DID NOT sign! I did tell them IF they could PROVE, with scientific documentation from an accredited laboratory in the United States, that oolong tea causes weight loss, I would drop the case. I'm still waiting for that documentation. I guess they think I will drop it..but that's NOT going to happen either.

Good luck to everyone! I'll keep you posted as to what happens. We may end up getting all of you in the class action lawsuit!

Because of this scam I will never order any product on-line! The same thing happened to me I just caught on sooner. Right after I placed my order I got a phone call from the company and the guy was speaking really fast like he didnt want me to hear something. I noticed he said something about if you dont like it you have to cancel it or you will be charged $60.00 every month, at that point I was pissed and told him to cancel it. He proceeded with you will have to wait till monday so I hung up with him and called back and spoke with a female, she told me the same. I was so upset and did not want to be charged for something that I did not want so I called and canceled my credit card this way that cant charge me. Ever since last Friday(when I placed the order) they will not stop calling my phone. This is a true SCAM!!!! :(
